With Thousands of Visitors And Big Sales, Here Are Some Highlights From The Thailand Yacht Show & RendezVous 2019Another successful edition confirms Thailand Yacht Show & RendezVous as one of the most important boat shows in Asia
The fourth edition of the Thailand Yacht Show & RendezVous took place at Royal Phuket Marina in January, welcoming thousands of yachting enthusiasts and wealthy lifestyle-seekers from around the region.
The four-day show showcased Thailand and its vibrant yachting and luxury hospitality industries, and underscored its position as a world-class cruising and holiday destination. Leading yacht brands from all over the world were present with many regional yacht premiers taking place, and all was held at the iconic Royal Phuket Marina.
Speaking of Phuket’s premier position as the yachting playground in Asia, Mr. Gulu Lalvani, Chairman of Royal Phuket Marina, explained âPhuket has a robust and growing tourism industry â the island’s beauty, pristine beaches and warm waters, and its clean air makes it the number one choice in the region for yachting. Phuket is the yachting playground of Asia and the Thailand Yacht Show & RendezVous is an excellent showcase for this.â
The 2019 Thailand Yacht Show & RendezVous line-up hit new milestones with the largest ever number of Asian yacht premiers and a display in excess of 40 yachts in the marina as well as a wide range of luxury products and services in the sold-out Exhibition Hall.
With superyachts visiting Phuket in ever-increasing numbers, the Superyacht Hub at next-door private island, Koh Rang Noi, included a range of spectacular superyachts including the 73m M/Y Titania.
In addition to the yachts and superyachts on water, the Thailand Yacht Show & RendezVous delivered a four-day celebration of the yachting lifestyle with a wide range of interactive activities, âliveâ demonstrations, sommelier wine tastings and elephant painting by Elephant Parade, as well as a classic car display, glamorous yacht parties and networking events.
As part of a special promotion to enable the Indian yachting community to witness Phuket’s world-class facilities and luxury yachting, GoAir offered a 50% discount on flights to Phuket from India for yachting enthusiasts who registered to visit the Thailand Yacht Show & RendezVous. Also, all visitors to the show received a 50% discount on return flights to India to visit the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort or the Lake Palace of Udaipur.
âGoAir’s direct flights to Phuket are a game-changer for India and for yachting in Thailand. More Indians than ever attended the Thailand Yacht Show & RendezVous this year I expect to see many buying boats and keep them in Phuket. Indian’s marine infrastructure is underdeveloped and duties on yachts is 60%. In Phuket we have world-class facilities, the best cruising grounds in the world and duties are zero making it the obvious choice for Indians to keep their boats,â added Mr. Lalvani.
âIn fact, since GoAir’s direct flights were launched we have seen an increase in interest from Indian boat owners. Our one-of-a-kind premium fully-covered dry stack and concierge service for boats upto 39-feet is ideal for Indian boat owners who wish to fly in for a weekend and use their boat. We will have their boat in the water and ready for cruising within 30 mins of their call, and store it again afterwards.â
