Italian Opera And Luxury Yachts Take Centre Stage At Royal Phuket Marina (24 Mar 2008)
(Phuket, 24 March 2008) – Royal Phuket Marina's Town Square provided a fittingly elegant venue for a dazzling evening of Italian opera, classical music, fine dining and luxury yachts.
Presented by Azimut Yachts, the evening began with sparkling wine and canapés, followed by dinner to the sounds of the Nova String Siam Quartet and ending with a sonorous performance by prominent opera singer Claire Cornielje.
Three newly arrived Azimut Yachts – models 50, 55E and 43S, each captivating in their own right – were on display for leisurely exploration.
The successful event drew in over 150 distinguished guests from around Southeast Asia. Grant Saunders, Thailand Country Manager for Simpson Marine, saw the event as a potent reflection of the region's ever-increasing interest in Azimut Yachts.
"Azimut has gained a considerable following in Asia in recent years with a number of models already berthed at various marinas in the Far East. These luxury yachts are in hot demand and are being purchased for both private and charter activities as they meet the needs of the boat buyers incredibly well. I strongly believe we will continue to see a growth in the purchase of Azimut as it is an outstanding brand with stunning features and reputable nautical capabilities," he said. In addition to the three Azimut models on show, Phuket is awaiting the arrival of Thailand's first Azimut 47 in April.
Skippers, the maritime restaurant and upscale sports bar located on the boardwalk at Royal Phuket Marina, provided a sumptuous dinner to accompany the lilting sounds of the quartet. Owned by recently retired Captain Peter Hay from Cathay Pacific Airways in Hong Kong, Skippers overlooks the 80 berth main Marina and is a popular meeting place for RPMs sophisticated clientele.
